Thanks QUAWK and TIMPA. Original dimensional post updated to include bar thickness.

Does anyone happen to have a pic of the mounting clips that are used on the back of headlight to mount it into the RE5 fairing. I have looked at and read the above instructions and parts list but it doesn't show very clearly just what the clips look like. Am having some trouble trying to figure out the three point mounting into the three holes in the recess that accepts the headlight. I do not have any such original mounting clips but figure I'll be able to come up with a substitute if I could see one of the originals.

Just thought I would add to this post that upon purchasing an RE5 fairing, as I have mentioned before I needed to replicate the top mounting bracket as the fairing came with the lower bracket but was missing the top bracket. I used 1/4" thick by 1" wide strap material as what was shown as being original. Rather that making the multiple bends along the width of the bracket as the original, which makes it follow the contour of the top of the crash bar tube, I simply made it straight across in that area and made the 90 degree bends at the ends of the bracket. Making it this way, after attaching the two center bolts the bracket sits forward of the tube 1/4" where the instructions say to locate the hose clamp to attach the bracket ends to the tube. By cutting a 1" long piece of the 1/4" bar stock and inserting between the bracket and the tube as a spacer, and then attaching the hose clamp around them, you wind up with the same upper/forward bracket mounting hole location as an original. I did compensate for the difference in distance on the forward pointing leg and hole location. This saved a whole lot of bending of 1/4" stock that's just thick enough to make it somewhat difficult to make that many multiple bends. To me, anyway, you wind up with the same mounting point as an original and is just as secure. Have mounted the fairing and fits perfectly. Have yet to take the bike on a first spin with the mounted fairing but am anxious to.
