Good afternoon. My name is Igor. I'm from Russia. The other day I bought a motorcycle at an auction in Japan. The reason for the purchase is quite banal and simple. I saw one in the picture and got interested. I am not new to the moto topic, I have previously restored motorcycles from the war and those that were produced here. But some time ago, I got tired of the museum hobby and sold out my motorcycle collection completely. I started buying Japanese ones. They've become more interesting to me. You can ride them and explore unusual technical solutions. This Suzuki was put up for auction in Japan. I managed to buy it after a hard battle with people from other countries. As a result, I got it for $9,000. While he is in Japan, in three months he will be brought to me and documents will be made for registration. The motorcycle has the frame number 10721 and the engine number 10419. Unfortunately, it won't start. I don't know what or how. It will be known upon arrival. I have already contacted Jesse Stockwell through your forum and he gave me some tips on spare parts. We need to figure out how to insert pictures to your forum so that you can see them. I have a lot of detailed photos from the auction of what I bought. It was bought at the BDS Kantou auction.

Hello Igor and welcome to the RE5. I believe you're our first Russian owner and we're very pleased to have you join. I've gone ahead and added two of the many photos you sent to your post. Instructions on how to post a picture are in this thread: re5rotary.proboards.com/thread/2864/pictures-photos-post-using-partyCongratulations. Looks like a very original bike. Someone has moved the front blinker/flasher/indicator from the sides of the headlight shell to the crash bar but that's not important. Most important is that the bike has them all. I also note from what you sent me, the frame number of 10721. This is a low number bike, early in the production run and nice to have. Pictures of a completely original RE5M (same a yours) can be found here. It will give you a good reference but I think you'll find you've bought a nice complete bike. re5rotary.proboards.com/thread/3407/re5-reference-photographsIgor also has a factory fairing for the bike. While you're waiting for your bike to arrive, read this post about reviving a long stored RE5: re5rotary.proboards.com/thread/2900/first-start-starting-engine-properGo to this thread and follow the links and you'll find free download of the Factory Service Manual and many other manuals and instructions. Good reading for someone technically minded while you wait for your prize to arrive! re5rotary.proboards.com/thread/379/re5-parts-service-manuals-onlineWelcome, Wayne

Добро пожаловать, I hope this is correct, and good luck with your RE5. Yes it's correct))) Money has been sent for the motorcycle and the expected arrival in June/July is possible even earlier. But I'm setting maximum deadlines. The motorcycle has been sold at auction for a long time at different prices. No one took it. There were no bets. Therefore, I searched the auction archives for photos from different angles, there were a lot of them with and without a fairing. The fact is that initially the motorcycle was sold with a fairing and glass. But a few months later it was already exposed without glass. Maybe they dropped it and broke it. And at the last auction, the fairing was unscrewed altogether. But it's included. I'm very worried about the turn signals. The fact is that he has red rear turn signals. And this is very rare, as I understand it. Or am I confusing something? A little later, I'll prepare the pictures and put them on the forum.

The red rear turn signals are uncommon but not rare. I think certain US states back in the 1970's may have mandated red turn signals to comply with their local design rules.
I think you will find Orange replacement lens for the turn signals quite easily if you need to change them. No need to worry.
