Stumbled on this great board while doing a Google search. I'm picking up a low mile RE5 this month in VanNuys CA. I owned a previous RE5 many years ago which I kept on the road with the help of Sam when RR was still open. I've been out of touch with the rotary parts situation for quite a while. Does Jess Stockwell still provide any parts support? Thanks to the group. I'll be reading up on all the excellent articles.

Yes, Jess is still around and frequents the site, his user ID is JESS. His email is rotaryrecycle@gmail.com. Welcome back to RE5 ownership!

Welcome. You had some top level help there with your last RE5. Couldn't get any better. Jess and Sam worked together for years before Jess took over Rotary Recycle so there's not much he doesn't know. However, spare parts are not his day job so he just asks for patience, he'll get around to all emails.

RE5 is home. Shows 3934 miles on the clock. Not sure how to post a picture. Only thing I can see wrong is the seat pan is cracked and the aluminum cover over the oil injection pump is missing. Paint and bright work are in fantastic shapes. Someone added a fuel shut off valve so I'm sure the petcock is leaking. Couldn't figure out how to post a picture

Gosh, what a great find. Take your time and go through it. Once sorted, it will high mileage well.

Only thing I can see wrong is the seat pan is cracked and the aluminum cover over the oil injection pump is missing. The first time I heard about a seat pan being cracked I walked to the shed and lifted up my seat. Sure enough. Cracked. It's very common and usually from owners hefting the bike onto the centrestand using the seat. Mine had similar mileage to yours when I bought it so it takes no time at all to crack the seat pan.
