For info: looks like with a 50mm centre plate, Mazda 12A though bolts are the right length. All that needs to be done is to drill and helicoil the threads in the side plate to suit (M10x1.0). 13B bolts could be used as well once around 20mm has been taken off the thread end (plenty there to do it).
Mazda dowels can also be used as they are the same diameter, just trim to the required length.

Yup, that's about as close to the horse's mouth as we can get.
Sam could (and did) write a page or more on just about anything RE5, even Kickstarters, flip hoods or colour availability. An amazing resource.

An amazing resource. Not a bad read that one. That's where I got the idea of making side panel badges that say "RT10" instead of "RE5"... Just as a teaser I went to a friend's yesterday where he is setting up a cnc mill so we should be able to make up side cover badges which instead of "Suzuki RE5" will say "Suzuki RT10" as per the factory naming protocol...

Bringing back an old thread... Still want to do this, slowly inching forward by clearing out excess projects so I can actually get something done.
Did anyone hear any more from that chap in England who said he was finishing off a twin rotor RE5? Andrew Baynham- he posted up on the FB group...

Nada from me mate. Still finishing existing bikes.... Not heard any more from UK either. Last I heard they were testing the motor and trying to keep it cool.

In my opinion, i had running hot concerns in traffic with a single rotor. That was before the first and second intake insulators.
With the new composition intake material and fuel injection and more efficient cooling fans, just possibly you could get away
with a stock radiator, probably not.

Back in the mid 90's when I was talking to Sam on the phone about my new (to me) 76a, Sam told me that he had one of the only two twin rotor prototypes that Suzuki ever made. And that Suzuki had the other one. But I have never heard anything of this bike on here. Unless I totally missed it.. (possible!). So I wonder if he was just pulling my leg since I was a newbie. Anyone ever hear of it? Maybe Jess can shed some light on this...

He wasn't pulling your leg. Sam wrote a detailed essay on the twin rotor which I'm sure is on this board somewhere. If not, I'll find in and put it up.
I don't know if he ever had the actual rotor unit, but I believe he had the fuel tank which was around 25 litres and the sidecovers which were similar to the RE5 except the round black portions were mesh intakes for the air filter.

Ah, so he had parts for the twin prototype? Or a mock-up twin bike? Either is cool. I'll search for his essay. Yeah, I remember him telling me that the radiator was massive because it was sized for the 1000. Makes sense, although considering how toasty the single rotor is, I would guess that it might be a little undersized for double the heat. Thanks!
