Can somebody advise what sort of horsepower should be generated at the back wheel and maximum torque on a RE5.

Thanks for the reply Stuart, unfortunately it's not exactly what I was looking for. I know in the literature it states 62 horsepower, but is often the case, measured at the engine crank rather than the actual horsepower at the back wheel and was the 62 horsepower a little bit exaggrerated!

The last one I dynoed was about 50 at the rear wheel if I remember correctly... It has been a few years.
The number Suzuki gave was in fact 62 HP at the crank...

Thanks for the reply.
The other month when dynoed, mine made 47 horsepower at the back wheel and 49 ft-lbs of torque, so maybe I'm not too far away.
Anybody else with any figures, I'd be interested, so we can compare, or I can tweek my bike to see if I can get a bit more!

Three hp could be the difference in dynos.

Fuel quality can explain a 3 hp difference, too. In general, rear wheel hp is 12-15% lower than crank hp for a chain drive bike. The losses are thru the transmission and chain, and the losses heat those components.
