It makes me cringe just looking at it. How did it happen?

It makes me cringe just looking at it. How did it happen? I was up in the roof in the garage moving some bits around and knocked the step ladder over. OUCH!!!!

Stick with black. Maybe with a light blue or silver fleck in it Any other colour just doesn't seem right somehow!

Yep, I had it resprayed black a few months back.
All was going fine until a couple of weeks ago then the coolant started to leak from under the bike. Luckily I was at home just before a run so there was no overheating. Not looked at it yet but suspect the pump is at fault. One for the winter!

Yup,sounds like it. Jess has/had the pump seals in stock and apart from having to take the clutch cover off, its a pretty easy job. When you do it, check for pitting on the pump shaft where the seal rubs. If its not too bad the surface can be linished OK.

When you the get the pump seals from Jess, be sure to order his replacement tip bearing which will go into the water pump casing. It's a proper plain bearing unlike the original. You're almost certain to find the original ovaloid or simply worn.
Re your fuel tank, boy, do I hate it when that happens. Been there, done that, but doesn't lessen the empathy.
I don't think that yellow belongs to Jess. I think the owner was on the last group site, may be still with us.

I can't believe it's a year since I posted Time does fly! Leak was nothing serious. Just the very thin (10mm O/D or so) braided coolant pipe under the left side of the fuel tank had split. Bike's been sat in the garage while we have been doing building works. I must check it over and get it fettled ready for spring

I know this is an old thread, but that is a very nice bike. Someone loved it over the years!
