It was good to stumble upon RE5Guy in the bike park at Founders Day at Stanford Hall. Great bike you have there Guy and sounded excellent going around the show ring and also as I ended up behind you on the road outside on way home. The 2 Norton Rotarys (one water cooled and one air) sounded fantastic too, I wish I could find one of those in my price range for my garage.
Anyway, I'll be going to Ashby Folville on Tue 9th August, anybody else in the Leicestershire area thinking of riding out for the evening? It would be nice to see a couple of rotarys there.
If you've never heard of the place, its a village in Leicestershire where on the early evening of 2nd Tuesday of every month in the summer that plays host to a huge classic and vintage bike and car meet. I've never been myself yet but have heard good things about it.
Let me know if any of you fancy a ride out. Ray

Hi Ray,
Nice to talk to you at the weekend regarding the trials and tribulations of being an RE5 owner. After speaking with yourself, I met 2 other guys, again having a good discussion about the RE5's, one chap being an ex Suzuki dealer. He has all the tooling, compression tester, Suzuki pressure guages, everything etc for servicing and maintaining, and he showed me yesterday a bag containing side seals for the rotar. I never realised how small and delicate these items are and it's the first time I've actually seen a rotary unit in pieces.
I will be going to Ashby Folville. You do need to get there early ie between 5 and 6. I've been before and there is alot of everybody there, including police! I think it must be the most organised, disorganised event!!!!!
If you do find two very cheap Norton Rotaries, tell me know and I'll have the other one!!!
I'll send you a private mail later on.
