Take a look at the you tube video #1 of the Suzuki RE5. In this video the bike is shown with a waterpump casting that has a webbed spoke design. You first see it at 3.50 time mark in the video when the tech puts on the right side cover, and again later in the same vid. Its interesting to see this and im sure there are many other small differences too but it makes you wonder why they would make it one way then change it for production when it obviously worked ok.

There are many many differences between prototype to production... In almost all products.
Sam told me once there were fifty (I could be wrong) differences between the prototype bikes and production.
I believe he has some (most?) of the parts for the bike in the video...
Best,
Jess

If you click the youtube link (gray box) when creating a message, you can put the youtube video directly on your post.

Are you all guys getting too lazy now to just click a link ,,sheesh,,LOL Yes Jess i know the preproduction models get lots of updates before the final 'sign off' for a production run, but in this case its not that the cover was an issue, anyways i just thought i'd point it out to those who didnt notice it before. Also seen on the same video that the fork lower tree cover is in chrome and there are no pipe shields.

Nahhhh, I just figured it was a good place to mention that the movie could be brought right into the post which I think is a pretty cool feature of this type of message board. You still have to click the movie to get it to work so the loss in finger exercise is minimal.
