Is anyone here on the board running a 530 chain on their RE5, and if so what combination of toothed sprockets are you using with the 530.

Is anyone here on the board running a 530 chain on their RE5, and if so what combination of toothed sprockets are you using with the 530. I have used 530 chain the last two years. 16 tooth front and 45 back. This winter I have mounted a new 630 again and new sprockets , but I have not tried it yet. Looking forward to... -Tonny

Thanks for that information about what sized sprockets you are using with 530, according to reports 630 is going to become obsolete by 2012.

I used 16 tooth on front and 45 on back. You can find a lot more information here. JT Sprockets are very helpful. www.jtsprockets.com/-Tonny

Tonny, did you use 530 sprockets from JT that were compatible with GT750 or something else ?
Did you need to space the sprockets at all ?
Thanks, Wayne

I don't remember if they were compatible with GT750. No spacers needed. NOTE: it is not the same ratio as original, but it drives very well with it. www.z1enterprises.com/reference/chainsprockets.aspx530 (JTF424/567 series) 16T Front Sprocket Product ID: TU24-9322 Price: $11.98 530 (JTR816 series) 45T Rear Sprocket Product ID: EM95-57145 Price: $31.23 I have also tried these, as it look more as original and is close to the original ratio. Problem here is that you can't find a chain with enough links. TU24-8660…..JTF424-17t Front Sprocket $11.52 TU24-9749….JTR816-52t rear Sprocket $34.29 Sorry for my english, hope it make sense -Tonny

Thanks Tonny, I think a 15 : 46 gives the same ratio as the stock RE (1 : 3.07). I'll look at what's available.
