I just dropped off my RE5 tank etc to be painted metal flake blue with silver stripes, I had only a tiny original blue paint sample from a broken panel to use as a colour match.
The painter had several possibilities in a catalogue, but I'd like to get it as close as possible, so does anyone know of a modern paint available in the UK that is a good match for the RE5M blue?

PS How do you upload photos to this site?...I can do it on every other forum I use, but this one beats me.

It took me a while to work it out and then only with help from the administrator. Here is his advice, now I can do it. Hope it helps you too. It seems that the critical bit is finding a link to your picture from the hosting site that actually starts with http and ends with .jpg. Read on:
Wayne
Wayne, Using the hosting site that you are using for your pictures, makes it a little hard to pull the picture from there to post on here but it can be done.
You have to click the link that shows....grab html/bbc code that is under 'share this' on your page where the picture is. Then look for a web address in the code that starts with http and ends with .jpg. Copy that and paste it in here.
After you post your link to your picture in here when you are preparing your message, highlight the link that you just put it in and then choose the insert image button (3 buttons to the right of the youtube button).
The picture should now appear in the message.

Hi Jess, no pm received as yet.
Thanks for the picture info Wayne, I guess it's like most things, simple when you know how. I keep all my photos in Windows picture and fax viewer, I can't seem to generate a code starting with http yet, but I'll keep looking, it's in there somewhere.

This is how I put photos on here, it's quick and easy once you have done it a couple of times. The easiest way to post your pictures onto the forum is to create a photobucket account. photobucket.com/images/uk/If you follow the simple instruction to upload your pictures by selecting where you will upload from, e.g. your computer, then browse the folders on your computer for the picture you want, and then click the upload button and your picture/s will be saved on photobucket. Click the one you want to include in your post and a larger version opens. Scroll down and you will see a box called "image link code" this will have IMG code (image code) in a box, just right click and choose "copy" and then "paste" that into this space on the forum where you type in your message and the image will appear when you post your message. Any typing above the line you pasted will appear above your picture and any typing after the pasted line will appear below it, so you can post several pictures with a line to describe them if you wish. When I read your reply Mick, I saw that you didn't realise and I had assumed that you already knew that the pictures need to first be on a web hosting site.
But Ziggy in the interim has picked this up and explained what really is the most critical point. The web host.

Unfortunately when, like me you are a dull wit in computer terms things like 'web hosting' don't mean much.......
I will have a crack at photobucket and see if I can get it right; the penny has finally dropped re 'hosting' so hopefully I will post something with photos soon.
Many thanks Wayne and Lee for the info, I need to learn this stuff and I'd be willing to bet a few others will benefit too.

Try giving RS Bike paints a ring, they are very helpful......... www.rsbikepaint.co.ukTell your painter "Firemist blue" should have a BLACK base coat first.
