I noticed the other day that it appears that when I start my bike a small amount of fuel ends up in the vacuum hose that leads from the carb to the vacuum cutoff diaphragm. I would not have noticed it had I not replaced the black hose with a clear one. I can dump the fuel out of the hose and it does not come back until the bike has sat for about a week and I start it back up. Any thoughts? My guess is that over time the trapped fuel will shorten the life of the Diaphragm. Maybe I can seal off that vacuum connection and find a different vacuum source for the petcock?

The diaphragm is designed for fuel, well at least the opposing side (correct me if I'm wrong). There could be a possibility that the diaphragm has deteriorated and cracked thus allowing excess fuel to be pulled through the vacuum source.

Thanks for the feedback. For reference the petcock diaphragm is in excellent shape. I'm wondering that if its just one of the hazards of having a vacuum source that is connected to a carb. I think I am going to just plug that up and find another source.
