Hi Guys, I am the new owner of a 1976 RE6 with 60K miles. The bike does not run and was kept in a shed for the past 23 years. According to the owner the bike was running when he parked it. The bike is complete, has some surface rust and a thick layer of dirt, luckily the exhaust pipes look to be in pretty good shape.
I have cleaned it up a little, removed the carb fo cleaning, new battery, the throttle cables are siezed and need replacing. I have not tried to start it yet, but have pushed it in gear to make sure everything turns. With the plug out I can kick it through with the kickstarter. I did get the starter to turn once with the start button but now it won't do it. I can hear the whine of of the CDI.
This will be a long term project, I have another project in front of it so it'll be a little while until I can spend much time on it.
I know of "suzsmokeyallan" from the old Sundial Suzuki website so I think I am in good hands, I still owe him for his genius water pump removal method for the GT750.
