My father recently died, leaving me his two RE5s (sorta).
I need to run them through probate, but am unable to find titles for them, to note the VIN in the paperwork.
I've got the frame #s from the bikes, is there any way to convert that to a VIN? I've seen them just listed as RE5-XXXXX. Is that the legal vin, or is that stamped somewhere else on the bike? They were running and parked more than 10 years ago, and suffer from dirt and flat tires.
Is there an easy way to get this info?
Thanks, guess I'll be back more now that I have 2 reasons to be.

On all my bikes, the Vin is RE5-xxxxx and this is on the frame, on the steering column. Do not use the number on the engine, it is completely different and not part of the vin. Suzuki used it, but the motor vehicle dept does not use it.
I don't know if steering column is the right word, but 'behind' the headlight.

Ok, that makes sense. If I was willing to search through 45 years of papers, I'm sure I could find the registrations, but I had hoped these would work. The frame # seems to be correct since I'm able to see a "E5-xxxxx" in this picture.
Does this look like the right # to you, it is on the frame behind the headlight. Seems like I recall there being a tag somewhere, but I cant find it easily where it is.

Excellent!
Now I just need to find a way to search for other RE-5 Owners in the Central Florida area. I'm going to have a bunch of learning to do on these things.
Thanks for the info
