Jay Leno's website has a good video on a spray on chrome process. Certainly not for high temperature applications but it looks pretty darn good. I can't get the exact link... www.jaylenosgarage.com/

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical of this process before I had viewed the Jay Leno video.
All I can say is what a neat process! No nasty chemicals and an almost traditional chrome finish. Assume the final clear-coat will make this finish quite durable.
The beauty of this process is you can `plate` plastics as well as metal items.
One thing that did surprise me is the guys on the video saying that it`s becoming more difficult to have parts re-chromed, mainly because of the environmental issues surround this process (I understand that some quite nasty chemicals are used - particularly in stripping off the existing chrome plate prior to polishing and re-plating)
I have had numerous parts re-chromed over the years, in fact I have spent hundreds of pounds on having my my GT750 & RE5 parts re-chromed. I must live in the right part of the UK as I have a choice of 3 chrome plates all within a radius of 10 miles or so from my house. My preferred plating company is Calladines - they are based near Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. The guys there do a superb job! Only negative side to their work is the standard turnaround time is 8/10 weeks. In my opinion its well worth the wait.
The other 2 plating company's that I can recommend are Derby Plating and Zachrome, Chesterfield. (Derby plating were the only company who would re-plate my GT exhausts - the oily 2 stroke residue in the pipes plays havoc with the chemicals in the plating baths)
I know this info is of no use to our American friends, but may be of use to the UK based guys.
Regards, Mick J

Yes many platers have shut down because they can't afford the special equipment needed to satisfy the environmentalists. Recommendations regarding chrome platers are always appreciated. Thanks. Lee.
