I am having a laugh, who's going to pay that? Jess has some new copies of the original shocks, the only difference is that the spring shroud is slightly longer. Or you can have your old ones refurbished as I did, see them here and for the refurbisher's contact email address. www.angelfire.com/retro/roadster/index-9.htmlZ.

Steve,
We have a pretty accurate reproduction shock that we sell. You don't need a core/exchange.
Let me know if we can help.
I have one pair of those Ohlins on one of my personal bikes. Very neat looking... NOT worth the $... (MHO)
Best,
Jess

If you go to www.alibaba.com (Site for connecting to Chinese exporters) and search for "Motorcycle Shocks", you will find all sorts of vendors with all sorts of designs. I have been in contact with a couple, and am discussing the production of replica shocks for various Vintage applications. Several of these vendors will manufacture a very accurate replica of whatever you send them as a sample, and the prices are fairly reasonable for a one-off sample. Bear in mind, they do this expecting a follow-on order of 100+ units if the sample is acceptable. If enough people were interested so that we could order 200 individual absorbers (100 pairs), they can be manufactured with modern internals (nitrogen pressurized), but otherwise looking like the originals down to the welds around the bottom. I am working on a design with piggyback reservoirs connected by a hose that are kinda concealed as they exit the shock (thru a hole in the top trim cover) and can be mounted out of the way. Not sure how the performance will be, or how dampening adjustments will work in actual use, or even if people are interested, but several vendors are willing to build them. I just can't afford a mistake on this and don't want to end up sitting on 98 pairs of unsold vintage replica shocks....any comments or questions? Tom
