Are you asking about the CDI (capacitance discharge ignition) box? If so, they are available... They are also quite pricey... We have them in stock and ready for shipment. Best, Jess P.S. There are alternatives available, but they require some modifictaions to the motorcycle... They are not "plug and play"

Does anyone know if these CDI boxes are repairable? My rotary cut out in the middle of a run, suspected the CDI box when I could't hear the usual whine when turning the key to start-up. Had to phone the wife who came out in the car and towed me home.Quite scary!!!I took the box off my other bike and everything was hunky-dory.Just wondering as these boxes are over 30 years old whether they need overhauling/replacing as part of the service procedure?Cheers,Shaun.

Shaun,
If you find someone to service them... Let me know!
Over the years, I have had many folks say "no big deal, I can fix them...or find a replacement"
I can't tell you how many boxes I have had that disappeared into the hands of "experts"... never to return.
I have used CDI units... when they are gone... they are gone. WAY too expensive to have made.
Best,
Jess

Does anybody have the schematic for the RE5 CDI internals? I have the schematic for a Honda CX500 and I would like to compare the two.
