I noticed that there are 35 people on the member list who have never posted on the forum. I'm thinking of contacting those who have been signed up for a long time but never posted and asking if they want to be members of the site and if I don't get a reply or if the reply sounds like someone who doesn't know what I am talking about, then I will delete them as members of the forum. It just seems a bit odd to have 23 people on the board at the same time on December 2nd. Makes me wonder if someone is up to no good. Any opinions on this?

what could they be upto ??
Maybe they are skimming our email addresses,
I have won that many lotteries in countries that I have never been to just recently And can you beleive that the king of some weird far off land wants to deposit an obscene amount of money into my account???. I vote for him, he seems like a great guy.
Has anyone else had such luck recently??

Thanks for looking out for us. The only thing I would do is give them a little time to respond. Peoples plates are getting full at this time of year.

I think some RE5 owners or non owning RE5 enthusiasts simply feel a need to be part of the forum and are happy just to browse the listings now and again so that they can keep in touch with what is happening in the RE5 world. Nothing wrong with that.
I do this myself, sometimes I may add a little contribution but to be honest I also stop myself from contributing at times to certain topics because they have been covered recently or the answers to a number of questions can be found with a little work on the Internet. I think others do the same.
On any forum you will always get the people who contribute many topics, these people are the hub of the forum and others can respond, then there are the recognized experts like Jess, Roland and a number of others that make a compelling read in what they have to say.
So back to the thought of why some members don't post, maybe some are shy, or have difficultly in typing what they want to say or don't use English as their first language?
So lets all make a new years resolution to post more. Z

ziggystardust, I agree that there are a lot of people that my join the board and stay on the side lines. I think the issue is 23 people joining the board the same day and none of them are active. Just not a normal event. I would hate to have one real person of the 23 and have them deleted because they where busy with the Holiday stuff.

Shavron, I agree the 23 members do indeed cause concern and the situation needs to be monitored as something sinister could well be lurking in the depths of cyberspace.
I have actually experienced what we are fearing here on the Suzuki T125 stinger forum, a small site with not much activity then I started to get weired emails associated with porn, looking at the stinger site I found it had been hijacked and infested by persons with interests in porn rather than the stinger, I removed all my details from the site. No more dodgy emails but the site was lost.

if you are concerned about your email addy getting into the wrong hand. best to hide it. I do on all forum.if genuine members need to contact you ,they can just pm you. why expose yourself to unsavoury folks. should a pm turn out to be unsavoury then you'll know who it is and inform the mods and have him or her deleted.

I went though the first page of members and sent emails to those who have been members for at least 2 months or longer but never posted. I asked that they either reply to the email that I sent them or post at least one post on the board in order to remain as members. I sent a link to the board so they can find it. I will wait until after the first of the year before I remove any accounts. I am only contacting those who have 0 posts.

Yeah, I'm guilty too. Signed up a while back when I acquired my RE but being so fortunate in the fact that it is a great runner, I haven't had too many questions ... yet. Been lurking mostly, just to learn. I am also on the sundial and kaw tripple boards and tend to do more listening than talking. You guys know more about this stuff than I do so I don't have that much to add at this point. I should have introduced myself sooner though. Thanks for a great board and forum for sharing info/resources on these unique machines!
