Ok so first off. I started my bike, and took it out for a quick run around the neighborhood. Came back and noticed the cooling fan wasn’t on… (Temp) Started to rise. So I turned it off. Thinking maybe the sensor or fan has gone out. I jumped the sensor wires and the fan came on. Ok so I proceeded to check battery voltage. It’s good. I turn the switch back on and the CDI box is making a really low growl/wine.. weird.. and now has no spark .so I check all wiring and even changed out the switch.. still the same. And one by one I checked every wire and everything seams ok.. I found if I unplugged the coil.. the cdi box came back to its normal sound.. so I thought heck maybe the coil has dead shorted. I replace it with a spare.. same thing..so I pull the cdi box and replace it with a spare, and now it’s back to normal and running. I wonder what happened to the box? I can unplug the coil and it sounds normal… and here’s the kicker.. every time I unplug and plug the coil wire. It will spark the spark plug. So something in the box that controls the discharge and seems to be grounding out. Anyone ever had a problem like this… glad I had another spare, if not it would be back to running my In case of emergency.. GT750 coil and condenser.. that just plugs in the factory spot. lol

Are you on the Facebook owner's group Mazdaman? If so, Grant Andrew is a resident expert on the CDI and he'd probably be happy to diagnose that. He's repaired a couple of mine and is a professional electronics engineer. I'm sure he'd respond to a PM. He's also a member here but I don't believe he's visited for a long time.
