I don’t think most of us in the Rotary world realize how good we have it. My Honda CX 500 Turbo needed a directional and when you can find them the going price is $250.00 for one. I did find a reproduction lens finally at $95.00 and still had to cut the lens out with a dermal tool and glue the lens in place, When I decided I wanted to get an RE5 I didn’t know about Rotary Recycle. I saw a RE5 spark plug come up on e-bay and bought it for $45.00. Now I just had to find a bike to go with that spark plug. I eventually found an RE5 and bought it. I finally found Rotary Recycle and looked through the catalog and couldn’t believe the just about anything I could need was right there. It makes it so easy to restore or just work on one of these bikes. I can’t tell you what it is worth working on the bike and you find that you need something and you don’t have to what for months for it to pop up on e-bay and play the frigen bidding game and start the search all over again if you don’t win it, or worse you do win it and it’s crap. If you have any other older bikes you know what I’m talking about. Right now it’s been over two months looking for a left hand mirror for a GTS. Long story I know and the short of it is don’t under appreciate having a resource like Rotary Recycle that you can order what you need and get expert advice. I know sometimes you may be able to find it cheaper. Believe me I know the money crunch I work as a Paramedic. The guy who just parted out the RE5 who couldn’t get it running will not help you with adjusting the carb, or be there two months from now when you need an air cleaner. I’m just thankful we had Sam and now have Jess running Rotary Recycle. The way I see it. As long as Rotary Recycle is around we all win. Ok I’m off my soap box, If you find a left hand mirror for a GTS let me know.

I agree! And I have a new in box left hand GTS mirror (for the faster red model) but it's not for sale. It's for when the old one completely falls apart and I lose it on the road. Sorry. I do have an ignition coil if you ever need it!

Yamaha GTS1000, I think there are a few of us here who have both an RE5 and a GTS in our stables.

First of all, I deeply appreciate the support. (Thank you, Ron for starting this thread)... This is my second job, and all I want is to be able to make it cover itself. If it does that, then it can continue as long as I am physically able... Any money I bring in above and beyond rent, utilities and other fixed costs goes into purchasing parts or having parts made. I had a converstaion with a fellow a few days ago about an "x" part. He was surprised that I was charging $80.00 for the part. I told him the one in his hand cost me 6 dollars to produce... BUT the first one I had made cost 4000.00... After that he understood. I have been riding and restoring antique bikes for the better part of 25 years... You name it, I have done it... (pretty much). The really unique thing about Rotary Recycle in the antique motorcycle world is that one place has EVERY LAST PART! Between new, gently used, rough and reproduction, I have every part for the Suzuki Re5. I dare anyone to name another 34 year old motorcycle that a person can call one place and get every last nut bolt and washer. Add to that, Suzuki only made 6300 units to begin with. Some of the things on the radar for production are contact points, spark plugs, CDI's and M headlamp housings. I am evaluating capital investment versus return. Believe it or not, most companies won't even discuss amking a part unless you want to amke 10,000 of them. Spark plugs are a good example as getting the minimum quantity to a level that makes it feasible is difficult to say the least. Someone mentioned on another thread that there is a guy on ebay that sells seat covers for the Re5. I have not seen his covers... they may be excellent. They may be better than mine... I cannot say. He sells them lower than I can. I can say, that I have never had a complaint, as mine are EXACTLY like the original. I do, however, wonder if you can call him on the phone and get him to spend 30-45 minutes troubleshooting your bike when it won't start. In my humble opinion, the only reason any of us are riding and enjoying these bikes is that Sam Costanzo loved them. If anyone thinks Sam was in it for the money... they are sadly mistaken. Rotary Recycle was his passion and his life's work. I intend to carry on his work to the best of my ability, again, not for love of money, but for the love of these wonderful, unique machines. Again, I appreciate all the support of my customers and this forum. I stand behind everything I sell, as well as the work I perform. Best, Jess P.S. My GTS is one of the fast red ones... I think Ron is trying to buy one a piece at a time

So the big question is... When will GTS Recycle be opening its doors? We all need mirrors and turn indicators!

If I sold my mirror I wouldn't have any more parts to sell without stripping my GTS... but maybe I could ship my GTS to China and have everything reproduced over there. It won't fit right and will be covered in lead paint but that's better than nothing right?

Maybe in Europe, not sure. But here in the States parts are getting hard to find. Crotchrocket.com has shown both mirrors as $267 each, but the status is "backordered" and it has been like that for a long time.
