Hi guys, Thanks for accepting my request to join the forum. I’ve be a motorcycle nut for most of my life, grew up with bikes on the property ( work bikes) and had a few go through my hands over the past few decades. Currently down to 7 in the stable, most are classics and always a bit left of mainstream. Which brings me to my latest, 1975 RE 5. I grew up being in awe of these and finally taken the bait an bought one. It needs a lot of loving to get it up to acceptable condition , so my journey begins. I will need a few ( maybe lots more) parts . Some I know will be difficult to get. I’ll accept any help I can get. The motor runs now, did a full carby clean out and rebuilt. It would have never run as it was missing a blind plug out of one of the galleries….. parts wise looking for; Headlamp case Rear chrome guard Indicator bodies and lenses are ok, but replacements is available The seat base seams wrong , doesn’t line up with bike frame, but seat has been recovered. Engine gaskets? Is there a supplier? Instrument cluster , I thought it was only missing the flip top, but appears the side panels , springs, pivots are gone… this worries me a little. I’m in South Aust. If anyone is nearby it would be good to hear from you. Cheers .

Welcome. I'm in Australia too but on the mid north coast of NSW.
That blind plug, where was it? If it was in the float bowl it should have a ball inside that passage to act as a valve. Critical to the operation of the accelerator pump.
Jess at rotaryrecycle@gmail.com sells replica headlight shells and gasket kits. Stuart (member T140V) is in the UK and I think may now be doing headlight shells as well. Would come down to postage costs as to which one. Both excellent replicas.
Jess also for your missing instrument bits, chrome guard. Stuart for indicator lenses.
