Hello all. My name is Jeff and I live in Minnesota. I bought my ‘76 RE5 in 1979 from House of Honda in Waterloo, Iowa…the original owner traded it for a Gold Wing. I’ve had it ever since. I rode it everywhere for years - first date with my wife, gave my grandma a ride…and had many great times. It moved with us all over the place, during which I lost touch with my trusted factory trained mechanic, Tom Moon. Over the years it slipped out of tune (carb) and has sat (inside, covered and still loved) for too long. I’ve recently retired and this is a project I must address. It’s still relatively low on miles, and I still have a few parts I got from Sam.
I’ll need help (this Carby still blows my mind) but if I get it clean and correctly adjusted, the bike will run.
Thanks to all who continue to keep these unique machines rolling, and thanks in advance for your patience. Jeff

Welcome Jeff. Great memories from your RE5........first date!! And she still married you!! We have at least one other member where the wife and the bike are well related. In his case they had his and her RE5's.
Keep us posted. If you don't mind, post your frame and engine numbers for our records.
Thanks, Wayne

Welcome Jeff, That's a most interesting story of your Grandmas ride, too. Was it her first experience on any bike? Anyway, Wayne has posted carburetor expanded photos and precautions( don't loose that brass toothpick) although members have made replacements here. I got my hi miler bike as it was traded in on a motorhome, go figure. Tim
