Hi all,
Unfortunately I had to drop the rotor unit out of the bike and Heli-coil all the M6 bolt holes as some of them stripped and the fabricated 175 mm long bolts snapped under heat load too. SO a bit of a disaster. anyway back on track in assembling all back now. BUT!!!!as I was bolting the oil unions onto the Oil metering pump ( the one that pumps oil to the carb) the threads literally fell out of the holes with the banjo bolts. I hardly even started tightening it with the torque wrench. So now the metering pump is wrecked to say the least. I was thinking of heli-coiling it but I remembered a friend saying that this should not be pulled apart as its pre-set in the factory. Otherwise, I would have and heli-coiled the holes.
So, I’m now searching another metering pump, does anyone have one that they would like to sell?
Thanks, Michael

I have one for sale. Send me a PM ;-) But I do not see a problem with a helicoil either....just make sure you do not get any metal chips inside the pump ;-) Michel

Take a look at " Time-Sert " thread repair kits. I think this is a better option than Heli-Coil . I have done the same repairs with Time-Serts. I packed the bottom of the oil pump hole with paper to prevent chips from going where they could not be removed from. The inserts come in a variety of lengths.

Hi all, thanks for the great response. @ Hudson yes I've heard of Time-sert and with my engineering background I truly believe these are a better option to heli-coils. Better process in repairing threads that's for sure.
I've managed to get my hands on a new Metering pump so just waiting for that to turn up so that I can finish assembling the bike back to running order.
Thank you all again.
