Are the serial numbers for these bikes sequential? I read where 6000 of them were produced. Just wondered if they were issued at random or not.

They began at around RE5-10000 and petered out at around RE5-16000 or so .......
At least that’s my understanding.

Thank you !!! That confirms my curiosity. I have serial number 10568 and suspected they started at 10,000.

My first thought was back in the day, I thought the bikes may have been shipped out of the
local warehouses by the last bike in, the first bikes out thinking they didn't rotate their
stock as I saw the newest frame numbers very soon with club members.
My take now is the Factory wanted to get the newest production changes out for evaluation ASAP.
Hats off to the original purchasers of these bikes.
