Ok what oil filters fit or can be used without any problems. I can get genuine ones with a good discount but if there is a good alternative I’ll use it. Cheers malc

I've just fitted a K&N HP-1003 as shown in link below:- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-1003-K-N-OIL-FILTER-AUTOMOTIVE-KN-Automotive-Oil-Filters/381141052667There are cheaper makes, and I guess you could cross reference this to other brands. Appearance wise the K&N sticks out like a sore thumb being white, but that doesn't bother me to be honest. I imagine any of the genuine Suzuki filters are possibly N.O.S. and I think I'd rather go for something newly manufactured. I'm not sure how the internal elements might degrade over prolonged standing.

I have an email somewhere from the man himself (Sam Costanzo) in which Sam recommended me a Suzuki filter, part no. 06510-05A00.
I have been using these without any problem for years. He told me that the only thing they didn’t have was the emergency by-pass valve that the o.e. ones had, but as this only opened at some ridiculous pressure, it was as good as useless!!
They are black, against the o.e. silver.

On this subject, does anyone have a used OEM filter they haven't thrown away yet?
I reckon the OEM filter outer casing is large enough to fit over the smaller AM filters (held in place with a magnet?) and could create the OEM look without the need to source one.

Perhaps someone closer to you will have one. I have one if needed. Pretty close in length to my Toyota filter.
