Hi! I write from Venice (Italy). Recently I bought a Suzuki RE5 model M. This bike is very rare in Italy. I think only 80 bikes sold in my country therefore after more than 40 years it is not easy to find it. For an incredible destiny I found the same bike tested on road in 1980. I was young and I had enough money to buy it. After so many years the bike was not complete (the front end and other parts missing). I say "it was" because after two months I found almost everything. USA Ebay is a great resource! It remains a great question mark about engine unit conditions because the engine was stopped thirty years ago after a crash on bike right side. In the clutch case I found water mixed with oil (water pump shaft mechanical seal was out of order) and the water inside water pump impeller ruined the housing. Bad sign! On next days when I'll open the engine unit I'll discover its conditions. However to finish the "frame parts" I am looking the battery cage side plate - part number 41620-37001. Obviously I can build a copy but the OEM plate is better. If someone can help me with this part I can pay by PayPal. Thanks. Best regards. Mike

Hi Mike I think you will find it very hard to find a battery plate as they appear to be left of on a regular basis !, Jess at rotary recyclers would be the best place to check , he is on here , or just make one i was looking at mine a couple of days ago and not a lot of work , yours Al

Hi Tim! Thanks for your reply. The part list code is correct. Before to begin any job on my bike I bought the original Suzuki RE 5 parts catalogue and the original service manual. I am interested to OEM part if it doesn't cost a treasure :-). My e mail address is: michele.lazzari@libero.it Best regards. Mike

Mike, I called and the plate is discontinued. Sometimes the parts lists will directly say discontinued. They checked, none in the USA
unfortunately.

Hello Mike, Are you still looking for the battery plate? If so I have an original one that I just got in a lot of parts I bought off of ebay. I am in Ohio, USA. Let me know if you are interested in it. I do not need it.
Best regards, Bob
