This Kawasaki P.N. 49063-1055 seal is an exact match to the original. It has been used in dozens of Kawasaki's models and I think even in the last 10 years, so hopefully it will be available into the future for a while. I believe it is made by the same manufacture as the original used in the RE5, printed on the back " NSO " Does anybody have an NOS seal to see what is printed on the back of the metal housing? The Suzuki P.N. 17470-31010 is discontinued. The oil seal P.N. 09283-13001 on the water pump shaft is also discontinued. Dimensions are 13.6mm I.D. X 26mm O.D X 6mm wide. Removal of the ceramic disc from the shaft was made easier with some heat from a hot air gun. As has been stated on here many times that the seal is very common size and used in many applications, yet no part numbers. Cost should be 20 dollars or less. There are some non Japan seals on the internet ( same size/less money) But I think I trust the O.E.M to be better quality.

timpa136 sent this picture that shows that the original seal was supplied by NSO as printed on the box and on the metal housing under the wrapper, same as the Kawasaki seal. ( Tim said he "hesitate to unwrap it" ) I understand. Thank you, Tim

The mechanical seal is one of a number made by Vulcan Seals in the U.K. they do not supply directly only through a distributers. I'll see if I can find the number again. Had it at one time then they changed their stock system and the old number was not recognised. Regards Stuart
