Found a local company that does "Brushed Chrome" finish. Owner looked at gauge cluster and commented that the original finish did not use a proper preparation process. All my brushed finishes on both bikes are crap. Silver painted some but its just not the same. Believe the gauge cluster, Tail light and blinkers on a 75M should all be brushed chrome. Any advice before committing to this.

You've obviously done your research. My only comments:
1- I found the brush finish on the first one I got done too light. So making a comment about how "heavy" you want the brushing might be worth while.
2- The first one I got done, they brushed the top half of the instrument can sideways and the bottom half correctly (around the circumference). When I did the second one, I drew some arrows on the can to show the direction I wanted it brushed. I thought they'd think I was too patronising but the guy commented that the directional arrows "were helpful". Don't assume everyone's smarter than a lamp post.
3- go for it. I'm getting another can done in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Wayne. Had not thought about that. Was going to take in 2nd set today for plating and then a lead from last weeks bike show came through. Looks like I will be able to purchase a spare motor. Complete. Plating will wait again.
