Well I failed. Where does this go ? It came with a carb that I'm working on but I don't recognise it. It slides nicely over the accelerator pump rod. As far as I know, that rod has a flat washer at the top and another at the bottom where the split pin goes on. Anyone recognise this white plastic "washer" ?

Is it one of the bushings for the linkage? I see in the carb photos on this site show bushings in the plates for the linkage between the two butterflies. Also the rod from the vacuum diaphragm has a white bushing in then end.

Thanks. Unfortunately all the bushings are in place and all the rods clicked in. The ones in the photo record are metal washers top and bottom on the pump actuation rod. This one is quite thick, probably 3 times the thickness of the metal washers.
Any more ideas please ?

It looks like the seal on the gear shift shaft.

I'll flunk the test, not even venturing a guess.
Especially after my carb cleaning excursion where Jess cleaned up the mess.

I have a complete unmounted carburetor for reference with all the pieces in a dozen small jars and boxes. Only the two throttle valves are still in place, and I don't have any part like that.
Thus, either this "washer" is not part of the carburetor, or it is a bearing from on of the two valves axes.

I recall my wifes bike dosen't hesitate and there is a brass machined piece on the accelerator rod that effectively lifts up the accel. pump arm and should increase the stroke. You might try putting the washer just above the stock end washer at the cotter pin . or...
Our I.O. auto shop instructor would throw in parts that weren't right on our bench overhauls ,sit back and watch us scratch our heads.

Thank you Grosours and all. Similarly, I have dozens of photographs of carbs and never seen this. It's why I didn't bother to take pictures when I pulled it apart. Darn !
Sounds like Tim and Al may have it. Very interesting to hear that this is something seen on car accelerator pumps.
It's a very nice piece of plastic, perfect fit on the pump rod and definitely not a bushing that's fallen out, nothing someone just scratched together. So I don't know whether Suzuki service shops were doing it or what.
I'll place it as advised. It certainly won't hurt anything there.
