Blown core plug removed and noticed silicone sealer inside side plate .
I can loktite new one in but how and why use silicone from factory,
Will loktite hold ?
I have never done one on a RE before

Do you plan to replace them all? I haven't imagined corrosion like that. That is not just any silicone though.
I think Suzuki had their own silicone but the bike shop used Hilomar, it was big with BMWs

only one had corroded and failed ,but I'm concerned about how thin the others are and how loose the sealant might be behind them .
its a low miles units that has suffered from lack of water due to a split hose I thought until I stripped the unit down.
.
Hilomar I remember and used in the workshop back then but this looks and feels like silicon sealant .
