Hello all! So, i decided to pull apart my extra carb, got the float off etc etc and started takng out jets to clean them up. however, there is one "Jet" that has a needle in it. it was slotted for a screwdriver,so i took out the long needle and turned the jet.. and turned and turned.. turns out i was turning the acceleration pump nozzle!. so after ruining it (not my proudest moment), i figured you cannot buy the nozzle only the needle that fits into it! So now im looking for a carb body with a good nozzle in it that has not been reefed on the slotted screw part like i did....
PM. me

Don't stress about it. Turn the jet until it squirt fuel directly towards the intake manifold (I think- I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong). You can check by putting fuel in the carby and turning the throttle- you can see the fuel squiring out of the orifice.
Put the needle back in and you'll be fine. Don't worry about the slot at the top being a bit chewed- it'll still work perfectly.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I have heard about someone trying to "unscrew" that spray bar. I bet the guy who designed it never thought of the issue. Jeff

goandy is exactly right. I had a carb the previous owner turned 180 and when I not knowing, checked the output, got an eyeful.

I I have seen this issue many times with the Jet chewed up and sometimes pointing half way round and then stuck in that position. these jets are locktited into the correct position with the single nozzle pointing towards the inlet. If you remove the ventury tube by way of the 10mm lock nut and screw on the lower right and with some gentle heat on the jet and a with a leaver tool ( Large screwdriver) inside the carb thought and under the jet you should be able to push it out .

Jay Cee Can your old jet be repaired ? You can see in photo the single small hole that must point to spray down the throat of carb when the accelerator pump is activated . You can also see in photo a bent needle end that will restrict the atomizing of fuel through the jet , Check yours is in straight condition.

My jet is toasted, it needs to be replaced, along with the screw that holds in the venturi tube

The screw would be easily replicated but the jet is a issue for a watchmaker I think with that small hole .
