Was there more than 1 type of handle bars for the RE-5? My handlebars has some rust on them so I bought one from Sam some months ago. I never looked at them in the box. So yesterday I was going to swap handlebars and the one I got from Sam was a mini ape hangar!! Several inches "taller". I already had my old handlebars off so I cleaned them up with chrome polish and got 95% of the rust off so I'm OK... I'm just wondering...

RE5 models of 1975 had only one handlebar offered and as far as i know it was never changed in 76.

When looking at the handlebars on my RE5, they seem to look high compared to the bars on my triples. I never thought about this until you mentioned it on here. I wonder if the bars that came with your bike are lower than the stock bars? Maybe measure them and we can check your measurements compared to our handlebars.

The rise on the handle bars of both of my bikes is approx 6 inches. From bend to bend.
Hope this helps, Ron

European handlebars are not as tall as the U.S. ones.
Ziggy.

I'm trying to upload a picture of my 2 sets of handlebars but the "attach" option is gone. What's up with that? I went to "help" to see if there is a limit to the number of pictures you can upload but the help is goofy.

To insert an image all you have to do is put the web address to your picture with the (http://www........ending in mypic.jpg) into your reply, highlight the entire web address to your picture, then click the image button. Preview to see if it works and then post reply.
