Hi
I bought this bike and have had it for a week now. It is my first RE5. To give a bit of background I am in my later 50's and have ridden bikes since my teens. Although bikes have always been my main transport when not carting the kids about, these days my bikes are now more for leisure rather than necessity. I like my bikes to be a bit different, for instance I also ride BMW C1.
My first impressions have been very good. I am not knowledgeable about the quirks of the bike, but the previous seller was very good and supplied me with a hints and tips to running and riding.
The bike fires up easily and runs very well as far as I can tell.
I have done 150 miles in the first week and absolutely love it. After 40+ years of motorcycling it has been a long time since I have had a truly new and different experience riding a bike. This machine makes me smile because it is so different. I feel I don't so much as ride it as set the controls and sit back and let it do its thing. I would say it is not dynamic to ride like a standard bike.
Looking forward to hopefully many happy miles on it.
Gerard

Welcome and too bad you had to wait so long to enjoy these bikes. What you said exactly. The owners manual said as much, let it run according to the gear you are in.

Well done for buying one you can get on and ride.... Some novice owners have to wait years for this after buying a non-runner..If at all ..looks like a nice bike....What part of the UK are you from ?

Hi Glenn
I am in Market Deeping just above Peterborough, what about yourself?
I had to buy a runner, I don't have the time or skill for a resto.
