Yeah, interesting but I suspect leaving the items in CLR without shaking them will have exactly the same result. All it would do is make a really annoying noise to the point where I'd smash it with a hammer.

If you read about what an actual ultrasonic cleaner is supposed to do, just shaking it isn't going to get the same results.
Real ultrasonics generate micro cavitation bubbles of around 5000 degrees F or C, at that temp, probably makes little difference what scale you're using, and pressures of thousands of psi. This is what gets the cleaning done.
But hey, points for ingenuity.
