After 3 years, I finally got around to putting my RE5 back together. Powder coated frame, all chrome work re-plated, engine covers polished, parts painted etc, I didn't attempt to rebuild the proper unit. Exhausts currently away being chromed. At the weekend I tried starting it for the first time, without exhausts! I about crapped myself as it started on first push of the button, about 3 compression sweeps, boy was it loud! A short vid is on link below. VideoJust a few finising touches now, front brakes to fit, exhausts when back from platers etc.

I love the blue flames you get coming out of the exhaust manifold!
Nice work!

I didn't run it without the exhaust for more than 10 seconds, I didn't want the flames to burn off the nice new powder coating of the frame

Nice! What's the story on your handlebars? That's kind of what I'm after but so far nothing is quite working out for me.
That thing starts right up, doesn't it?
