After I had the Firemist Orange M painted I decided to restore the side cover badges so they looked nice. I polished them out and found what ever metal they used to be very, very hard and difficult to polish. After that they needed to be repainted and about half way through the first one it became obvious that I really suck at painting small detailed objects. So I E Mailed Jess at RR and he had some very nice repops in stock and ready to go. Crappy cell phone pictures but you get the idea. There is no way I could have made my old ones look that nice. Jess says he has the tank badges also, and I'll bet he has the engine badges too. Thanks Jess!

Those repops look nice. We also have a mob down under who remakes them too- can't remember the website though. I've had a crack at repolishing mine and to be honest I didn't think they were too bad. I sanded them with wet&dry sandpaper first (400 grit I think) and it made them nice and flat. I then polished them on my bench grinder/polisher and they came up like a mirror. Doing them by hand would suck the big one! Just have to do the detail paintwork now which can be tricky and requires alot of patience!

Andy, I have bought some Rotary shaped engine Re-Pros from down under, they look very good the only down side is they are made from a more solid heavier alloy than the originals and are quite tricky to bend into shape before sticking on the casings . It was a case of a Vice with soft jaws and a large adjustable spanner with protective packing on it and then locked on to each corner in turn hoping the paint dose not crack. The end result was fine. with no one knowing that they are not original except me ( and every one else now its on here )
