Before dismantling my instrument pod in readiness to fit an uncrazed flip-up screen i noticed that the aluminium lower housing was cracked and will need careful welding, has anybody else had or seen this issue? secondly the rev counter seems slow to react and the engine can run for some time before it decides to wake up, taken the cable out and it seems to run freely with no broken braids, again anybody got any clues? many thanks Ian. I do believe that housing is made of "mystery metal" and will not weld properly. I would recommend finding a replacement housing. The slow to react instrument should just need cleaning/oiling to make it work properly. A good time to do that as long as you are changing out the housing. Jeff

Hi Jeff, have given it to one of my company subcontractors who specializes in welding wierd metals, i`ll let you know I always thought oiling tacho`s (an speedo for that)was an absolute no-no as it buggered up the magnets slip resistance, any other views out there?
