New here so sorry for the simple question....where is the key code on an RE5? Is it stamped on the seat lock? Or somewhere else? Thanks. -marty |

There is a number stamped on your ignition switch, just above where the key goes in. This is not really a key code but a key number. I would guess that someone somewhere has the code book that translates that number into a key code, but you can order a key with that number probably from Jess at RR or you might even find them on E Bay. If someone has changed out the ignition switch (a very real possibility) you may have different numbers on the ignition switch, the set lock, the fork lock and so on. I think two of my bikes have non matching key numbers. Probably the ignition switch failed in the past or possibly a previous owner lost all the keys and put a new ignition switch in so he could start the bike.... who knows.
