bike has been stood for 26 years when I took the water pump housing of the thermostat was full of congealed coolant I've cleaned it but thought it would be better to replace it

Also a good idea to check the shaft bearing that is pressed into the pump cover while you have the cover off. If it does not fit snugly onto the impeller shaft, it should be replaced as well.
We have them in stock, made to our specifications.

thanks I will check it also do they normally run quite hot, as in the fan not cutting in till nearly in the red?
