going by the general apathy in the motorcycle trade,if anyone bids they will back out for some stupid reason.i work in a bike shop & this year loads of established names have called it a day ,sellers of both new & classic machines.i think there will be some bargains out there .thankfully the people just looking for an investment seem to have evaporated,so only bike people remain as buyers. its great to see your bike is not totally worthless, however when they start becoming whats called blue chip investments, they are priced out of your market.the more expensive the less they are used, less spares needed & they become static models. i used to be into british bikes all i can afford now is a bantam or a c15 because of this trend. hopefully some one will buy it ,register it use it,ride it in the rain & have loads of fun on it.if it ends up in someones living room its a waste ,they should just buy a cardboad cutout

Morning All, RE5 A made £11,500 but as there is no paperwork the unfotunate buyer has VAT to pay on top if he wants to register it as it did not have all import certs of duty paid etc. Beware when buying imports, make sure all paperwork is present and meets NOVA requirements.
Regards Stuart.

no import documents,no reciept for vat paid .virtually imposssible to register .expensive paperweight or ornament .there are loads of bikes around without documents showing vat paid at importation.the people who imported them probably brought them in as spares.downloaded the old type customs form, forged it & sold the bike at massive profit & paying no vat.the new scheme means if the importer does not put it in the database ,the bike is only useable as spares unless a uk registered frame is available.

I looked at that bike on Saturday and it was now way worth that sort of money. It had not been very well stored with a dink in tank, leaking break res with the paint damage to go with it from the drips down the side of the bike, there were signs of the carb been tampered and port valve cover had been removed a few times with the tell tail scratches off the spring clip. I think someone had tried to get her started at some point. I have some photo's but still cant post them on this site. There was also a re built "M" for sale @ £10k nice bike but the wrong colour and some painted alloy.

going by the description my bike is easily worth £10.000 when its taxed & tested LOL .a classic dealer i know was at stafford & he could not believe the money some bikes where making.however nice not over restored original examples where overlooked.he came away with a couple of nice unrestored but needing a good clean up early honda trail bikes at very humble money.he said buyers where like magpies if it sparkled the bought ,never mind the provenance .give me a nice useable bike with a bit of a patina any day,i look at a bike like an antique.if you remove all the marks & history from a bike its just like the next one, that scuff on the silencer when you dropped it on the ice is part of its history.
