My RE5 M exhaust is missing one of the four bolts that connect the exhaust pipe clamp . bolt 01411-08308 (nr 14 in the parts catalogue) goes into a bigger bolt inside the manifold (not in the parts catalogue...wonder if it's original) and is secured with a nut and a washer .I have 3 good ones but the fourth is replaced by a one piece much bigger bolt...it gets the job done but looks very ugly. The bike was stripped/powdercoated/engine rebuild 25 years ago by the previous owner. Run zero miles/km until I bought and restored it and now looks good and runs (needs finetuning).Could someone tell me what bolts / nuts should be used and where I could find them.

Sounds like your manifold has suffered a typical failure. From what you say, it sounds like in the past one stud has pulled out and the PO has possibly helicoiled it or retapped a bigger size and then used a bolt to hold the pipe on at that point. In any case, what you describe does not sound stock. The threads in the manifold are tapped directly into the cast alloy, there is no other bolt or carrier metal.
The manifold should have two studs per side to fit through the holes in the exhaust clamp ring and then each stud is secured with a spring washer and nut.
The original stud diameter is 8 mm. Rotary Recycle USA is bound to have the original items.
Those manifolds are made of the worst cast alloy. They are like cheese and the studs pull out very easily. Whether stripped or not, I always repair them because if they haven't stripped yet, they will. I remove the studs and drill out the holes as deep as I can and then fit the longest helicoils into the thread returning it to 8 mm. I then get the longest studs I can to take advantage of the deepened threads. You can also reverse the stock studs putting the longer threaded side into the manifold. You will still be able to fit the exhaust clamp and bolt and it takes advantage of the deeper holes.
Some people use loctite on the standard studs and holes but that won't stop the threads simply pulling out. Also, the very high temperatures at the manifold will burn off most loctites.

Thanks very much Wayne your reply was very usefull! I now know which way to go as i'm sure the holes are retapped.
