Wow, it went for £2000 !! I just hope that its been stored in a dry environment for the last 40 years and all internal o-rings and seals haven't deteriorated. It will make someone a very nice, as new, zero houred engine, I'm so jealous  |

Yes well Jess said in the older thread about this that the last one he was aware of went for $3500 so this one was a bit cheaper!

Well it wasn't me! Bit too rich for my bank account. Not saying it's not worth it but my financial controller would have a fit if I spent a large amount of money like that on my bikes. That's why I do lots of little purchases to slip them under the radar. .. ;-)

Yes it did sell for 2000 pound or a bit over $3,100 AU at the time of the sale. It went to an owner in Australia who is not on this board but I do know who he is and the engine arrived safely.
I also know someone who paid $3,000 AU several years ago and another who paid $3,500 before shipping fees. Given that, 2000 pound and 75 (I think) for shipping is a good buy if not a bargain. These NOS units are few and far between.
As for the ebay engine with the carry case Martin, it looks a decent bike but that mileage is pretty high. Certainly kept the bids low.
