Beater RE5 just sold on eBay

The price was right, I was outbid at the end. Total gamble as to if the motor is okay. The seller had not used a compression tester on the motor, he was going by the feel of the kickstart lever.

What do you think of this motor? If correct the compression is really good. I've come to the conclusion that mine is shot. The real compression of mine is around 50 psi. With really thick oil I can get it to read 90 or so, but I think that is more of a party trick than an accurate assessment of the motor, it does have 63,000 miles on the clock.

Did you get the motor? I don't know much about the prices for a motor only but if you didn't get that one that was on ebay, Rotary Recycle would be a very good option.

No I didn't get the 130 psi motor, I gave him a low offer, the listing ended and he hasn't listed it again.
$1,500 for a motor from RR is a bit too much for me at the moment, (although that would definitely take the gamble element out of buying a motor). If I'm working full time through the summer I might be able to swing it then, I definitely want to get the rotary running and keep the bike long term.
