Hello all,
I have just purchased my RE5 from Germany (the ebay bike which oggynator mentioned) and I need to register it in England. The bike requires a full restoration which I'll start in the spring and as I haven't tried to turn it over yet I will assume it is a non runner.
Does anyone know what is required to register the bike? Is it just the case, pay some money (probably loads) and complete a form or do I need to run the bike into a vehicle registration centre?
All help welcome.
Regards, Joe.

you will need to m.o.t it on the frame number, then insure it on the frame number, you will need the german log book or proof that it has come from the e.u.if you do not have the german log book you will need a dating certificate to show the year of manafacture.i use www.secondaddress.com/dvladatingletters/ for my dating certs.once you have all these go to your local dvla fill a form in hand them over £55 plus the price of road tax and the will check the paper work and issue you a reg number useually takes a couple of days to receive the reg number.but the might decide they want to inspect the bike so a useful tip is take 4 pics of bike showing both sides and front and rear and a 5th pic showing frame number that is useually enough for them not to have to inspect the bike regards mike p.s if you need any more help just message me

Hi Joe, welcome to the forum, Mike has covered everything on registering your bike in the UK, However even with all the photos they may still want to see the bike, they only do this on one day per week so It may be worthwhile finding out what day your local licensing office do their vehicle inspections and take all your paperwork and the bike on that day so if there are any problems you can ask them to check it out then and there. Just make sure the frame number and engine number are clearly visible and match your docs.
Regards Stuart
