Hi again.
While replacing the water hose I put the tank on my workbench to keep it out of the way. When I came back to it, I noticed a pool of petrol round the tap. It clearly is not leaking a lot but needs sorting. Are overhaul kits available in the UK, or is it another call to Jess?

Ok, tap is off and in pieces. What a lot of crap inside it! The filter for the reserve pipe is shredded, and it has let a load of stuff out of the bottom of the tank into the tap (and probably the carb). So, a bit more cleaning and checking to do yet. I am taking the fuel tap in to a mate tomorrow to get it sonic-cleaned, and in the meantime have ordered a new cloverleaf seal.
Can anyone tell me what the pipe is for, that goes from the side of the tap into the bottom of the tank please? It goes into the reservoir in the bottom of the tap, and hence straight out again into the fuel pipe and carb.

Hi, at the carb inletscrew is another filter, also at the bottom of the petcock
The thin metalltube goes inside the tank to the top. So I think ist is for air.

Thanks for that. I think I am missing the filter in the tap body.
