hi guys just wonder is there a trick to releasing whatever the mechanism is that prevents the green plastic flap from covering speedo/tacho and sliding up as the bike it comes from is partly dismantled and instruments arent currently wired to bike basically i would just like to see what shape the instruments are like but dont want to completely dismantle a good set of clocks if i can get away with it thanks

No power is required...
The Hood is spring loaded, and only latched shut when the key is in the off position. This is done mechanically.

Dang. There goes my opportunity to try and convince Jeff that he has to deactivate the flux capacitor to open the lid...
Good luck Jeff- and don't be shy to ask questions, there's a wealth of knowledge on here. Jess also sells brand new repro headlamp shells for the M model- yes from the states but there's not that many loose spares for these things in Australia these days. I've never seen a tank or headlamp shell for sale here.

ha ha ha actually had a better look at the instruments today after rotary recycles post tring to figure out another way as dont have the bloody key only to discover theres a little tab you push down between instruments and ignition area that releases cover without a key all good though job done without a flux capacitor thanks for parts info mate, do know of some bits locally but seeing what else is around in case my source is too high dollar wise thanks guys
