Hi again.
I have just realised that the top-rear locating lug of my right-hand side panel is broken off. Does any one have a broken or wrecked panel that I could rob a lug off please, so I can get it plastic welded onto mine?
Many thanks,
Biggles

Fabricate a lug out of steel from a food can, then attach it using fiberglass or body filler and build it up, I've done it. Just copy the other one making sure the new lug lines up as you are building it.

Many thanks, Biggles Everyone here has a RHS side cover with that bit broken off, so finding an unbroken one (in that regard) I'd say is highly unlikely. The long and short of it is they all break eventually. The cover stays on quite nicely without that 'lug' and the missing piece cannot be seen with the cover in place. IIWY I'd forget about it - you'll need the time and patience to set your carb right!

It's way easier to make one out of metal and glue it on.

I cut a piece of thin aluminum and cut a slot in it - used good old JB weld to glue it inside the cover - works fine and is stronger than stock.

Evening Brian,
I have used plastic tool box partitions from halfords that I had spare, cut the slot with a dremel then glued it with glue gun, its easy, if you need to remove it cos its in the wrong place thats no problem if its in the right place you can put another "run" like a weld on top. I'll send you some if you get stuck with some photos of my repairs.
Regards Stuart.
