I read on the forum somewhere that tapered headstock bearings are slightly too deep compared to the original ball races and if used without modification the seals were ineffective allowing water ingress into the bearings and also that the headlamp mounting ears were loose between the yokes as the extra thickness of the bearings cased the yokes to have a few mm more space between them. The thread suggested getting the bearings ground down to reduce the thickness. Has anyone had any success changing the bearings without having to modify them? If so, which supplier for bearings was used?
