I need:
A black right side cover. Needs to be in really nice condition.
RE5 Rotary badges for the side covers.
The badge for the right side of the engine.
The correct color green to fill the rotor line in the logo on the left clutch actuator cover on the left. I did the leters, but the green seems to be some sort of translucent paint.
Thanks, Al

reproduction decals sell nice reproduction side cover badges and engine badges. Jess probably has them as well. I have a set of originals that need to be re-painted that I could give you if you want them.

All my stuff is really nice, but the paint is gone from the badges. The side cover is cracked.
Actually, if I could find a translucent red for the cover badges, I would be OK.
I'm so glad I listened to Jess and bought a better bike. I have been blessed with rust free parts. The pipes are as new, except for a small area where battery acid spilled on them. Still, that area is rust free. This has been one of the easiest restorations I have done.
Then again, I have not gotten to the fairing and bags yet. I just might sell them.

There is a nail polish red that matches really well for the badges. Not sure which color though.

Just for interest, I have two or three NOS sidecover badges that I specifically bought to get the right colour.
Turns out that the reds are all different- and not just slightly. Don't sweat it too much.

Nail polish it is, then. I guess I'll get some green nail polish too.
Also would like the decals or whatever it is that goes in the front calipers.
I'll send an email to Jess. I'm almost ready for the damn exhaust tips that started this whole thing off.
Was not going to "clean" anything. Was going for the "barn fresh" look. Wiped off the front fender... Not a speck of rust, perfect chrome. Took the pipes off to change the rear tire... Except for a small bit where battery acid removed the chrome (no rust), the pipes are like new. Really.
The dirtiest part of the bike (I went off and decided to clean everything) was the area where the front sprocket lives. It was full of grass and grease. Not anymore. Changed the 14 tooth sprocket out for a 15, and buttoned it all up. adjusted the clutch... Rear of bike is all set.
Just mount the front tire and clean up of the fork and headlight area.
Next project is my girlfriend's son's 90 Virago 750 rat bike. All rust. His first bike. Let's see how long it ties up my lift.

I guess I'll get some green nail polish too. Have a look in your local model shop for the green, as long as you have a rough idea of what shade it is they'll have loads of real small pots of paint, at a good price too.
