You are right, the bike is from Norway. It was built by a friend of mine about 10 years ago, and it is still on the road every summer. It is built on a standard RE5 frame, but the rest of it is picked from various GSX models. The bike had a new proper unit about 3 years ago, and it both runs and handles very well. The handling is more like a modern GSX than the original RE5. The most improvements lies in the brakes, which really feels and acts like a modern bike. The engine is nearly 100% RE5, only the carburettor is changed. This has been taken from a snow mobile. The exhaust is as you tough getting quite hot, and the pipes had to be modified, and is now made from titan. The cooling system is modified, and the radiator is placed under the tail section, using electrical fans for forced cooling.

Is the seat and rear cowling from a GSX? I thought it was from a ZX9 ninja? How does it sound with that exhaust? Heck, I'll expect nothing less than a full youtube video tour of the bike posted up shortly!

This bike looks great. I started to build something like this before using bit and pieces from other bikes but it was too much work to complete it and I gave up. Fantastic job, congrats to the builder.

Fantastic job, congrats to the builder. I can see why you were able to consider this type of project- 13 RE5's? That's either obsessive or just selfish! Fancy sending one down this way and I'll build it into one of these hybrids? I've only got two RE5's- and I'd like to keep them as the matched pair, one orange and one blue....

Thank you.......I've had these picture for close on 10 years and I'm glad my memory is not failing as fast as I thought. Appreciate you clearing it up for us. Mind you, I have no idea how I got them in the first place !

Yes I was wondering about the protruding clutch rod cover on the sprocket cover. Hadn't even looked at the handlebar! Well spotted.
