Very interested in the results. I've been curious what these bikes put out at the wheel.

The motor is reported to have 62hp at the flywheel so it will be interesting to see what I get at the wheel.

I'v seen a post somewhere in the past of 45 hp at the rear wheel on a dyno.
About a fortnight ago I got an invitation to bring all the local RE5's to a mate of a mate to do a dyno day. Can't organise it for another couple of months though.
Look forward to your results.

Morning Greg, Last year at a bike meet I put my RE5 onto a mobile dyno. Just as it was being wheeled in, another bloke on a bike shouted that'll fall to bits that will ha ha! (confidence building - something you always get from the biking mob!!!). My bike made 47.2 horsepower, 49lbs of torque. And it didn't fall to bits after all! These figures were very similar to the readings achieved in the web address www.enotes.com/topic/Suzuki_RE5When you've opened it, scroll down and it will give you the actual figures at the rear wheel. Do hope this helps Regards Guy

Well, love 'em or hate 'em, they are consistent. That rear wheel figure in the link comes from US CYCLE magazine test January 1975.
That should be good news to you as presumably the '75 test bike would have been very new.

Okay, look forward to testing all of ours. It'll be really interesting to see how seat-of-the-pants goes up against the dyno because last year we ranked 4 bikes by riding them. We've got 3 extras now as well and are collecting comparative compression tests.
Will you be at the VJM March 10 ?

Hi Greg,
Didn't fall to bits then! Well done! I'm still running on a standard 87.5 jet, but from the graph read-out power declined after 6000rpm and plummeted after 7,000rpm, Maybe with a much bigger jet I could have kept the power up in the very high rev bands. I'll try and scan my read-out and you can have a look and see if it's possibly similar to yours.
Regards Guy
